started Nature First?
My name is Priscilla Canice-Obi. I am a wellness advocate, a wife, a mother, an entrepreneur, a certified Health Coach, Herbalist and trainer. I am from Northern Nigeria by origin and married into the Eastern part of Nigeria.
I am the founder/CEO of Nature First, a fast growing, NAFDAC APPROVED Nutrition and Wellness Brand in Nigeria with Distributors in Nigeria and beyond.
It was in early 2018, my 18 months old son tripped and fell from the staircase in our home and sustained a head injury.
The injury on my son’s forehead was treated and he was certified okay by the paediatrician who checked him at the hospital.
Unknowingly, the wound was more internal than external.
How did we find out?
Some weeks after the first fall (I consider this a divine arrangement), he fell from my bed, hitting his forehead on the floor of our bedroom, it was then the wound in his head manifested itself. His forehead was terribly swollen and his face slightly disfigured.
It was a frightening situation at the time
I called my mom to inform her.
My mom asked me to bring him over to her immediately. From what I described over the phone, she responded, “head injury is serious, if he wasn’t well treated the first time by the paediatric doctors at your university teaching hospital, bring him over, let’s use herbs”
It was then I made a trip to my parent’s home with my son and my few months old daughter.
On arrival, My mom (a strong believer in nature) applied some steamed herbs on his forehead. By the next morning, the swelling had reduced by more than half. However, the steam from the herbs, opened up the surface to reveal the deep wound in his forehead.
I was astonished!
My mom further took me to an elderly woman in her 70s (who is now one of my mentors in natural healing), she gave us a natural antifungal and antibacterial oil to apply on forehead.
She instructed us to use only that particular oil and nothing else, not even massages. We applied the oil only on my son’s forehead and the wound started to bleed afresh like it was a new wound.
I remember crying profusely when I saw fresh blood dripping over my little son’s face from the wound on his forehead.
But guess what?
That oil healed the wound from inside out completely in less than 2 weeks!
I was amazed.
At first, the herbs reduced the swelling amazingly.
Secondly, it was this natural oil, healing the wound from inside out.
Then I thought to myself..
My son narrowly escaped what would have become a big health problem in the future.
People should know about the priceless gift found in nature!
How come the world doesn’t know about these natural remedies, plants and herbs?
Yet we have them all around us in abundance.
If the generation of these elderly women (my mom, my elderly mentor, elders in your community and many other like them who use nature to feed and heal) pass on with this knowledge, without passing them down, what a waste of treasures that would be.
So..
I took it upon myself to begin to research about healing and nourishing naturally..
And I have discovered the power of nature to heal and nourish on this journey
